Finance Operations Analyst

What you will do

About the role:

We are seeking a Finance Operations Analyst to join our team in Berlin to oversee our financial operations, ensuring compliance with German GAAP and tax law.

In this role yout will be required to build a good understanding of our accounts payable and accounts receivable process, and will take on responsibility for preparing accurate and timely financial reports. The role involves problem-solving and creative thinking while aiming to achieve continuous improvement of accounting/finance processes.

What you'll do:
- Maintain financial systems (Finway, Cryptio)
- Prepare and review financial statements, provisions, and shareholder resolutions
- Coordinate inventory management and support annual report preparation.
- Review VAT declarations and economic assessments (BWA)
- Lead tax audits and ensure compliance with German tax law
- Prepare month-end tax files and regulatory reports
- Manage fiat and crypto accounts, ensuring timely payments.
- Monitor payout schedules and top-up credit as needed
- Review and process invoices, manage payouts, and assess VAT requirements
- Provide training on compliance with German tax and commercial law
- Oversee payroll-related tasks together with HR, including token payouts and non-cash benefits documentation
- Company expenses and bank account management
- Maintain cash flow and profitability forecasts.
- Coordinate with tax advisors and ensure correct employment certificates submission
- Provide ad-hoc financial assessments.
- Design and improve finance processes for compliance and efficiency.

Who you are

- Proven experience in finance management, ideally within a German context.
- Strong knowledge of German GAAP, tax law, and HGB.
- Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Finway, Cryptio) and accounting software.
- You have excellent MS Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity (20 hours/week)
- You have an excellent command of English and GermanIs
- A plus:
  - Experience in managing crypto transactions and related tax implications.
  - Familiarity with German payroll regulations and benefits.
